Apple cider vinegar is one of the key ingredients and it’s also one of my go-to treatments on my wash day. It’s known for stabilizing the PH balance in your hair and maintaining a healthy, clean scalp. It strips away all traces of oil, dirt, sweat, grime and product buildup from your hair. So I was so excited to try this shampoo!
It also contains salicylic acid which acts as an exfoliant for oily skin to slough away dull or rough skin. It is found in skin care products for acne control.
The other key ingredients include Vitamin B3 which supports hair growth and shea butter which hydrates and locks in moisture.
It does not contain sulfates, parabens, phthalates, mineral oil or petroleum as well as no animal testing.
The Application Process
The Shea Moisture Anti-Dandruff Shampoo had a gel-like consistency. It immediately foamed into a rich, lather as soon as I applied it to my hair.
While lathering, I noticed it was getting a little harder to run my fingers through my hair so I concentrated on massaging the scalp. I only washed once and it rinsed out easily.
It has a light, pleasant scent. I felt this shampoo was great to use as a clarifying shampoo. It is definitely not a moisturizing or detangling shampoo. Since I do not suffer with dandruff, I would prefer to use it during the hot summer months or once per month to purge product buildup from my hair and treat my scalp.
The Shea Moisture Anti-Dandruff Leave-in
After deep conditioning my hair, I applied the Shea Moisture Leave-in to particular areas of my scalp, mostly in the crown area, where my scalp has severe itching. I gently massaged my scalp and styled as normal. This is a convenient on-the-go treatment. I noticed my scalp felt refreshed. It felt super clean but not tingling. It was like my pores were actually breathing! Ahhh,yeah, this double duo is a win for a super clean, non-irritated scalp!
